Forsaking all Others…(poem)

On this, the happiest day of my life,
I gladly take thee to be my lawfully wedded wife
That we may live together in holy matrimony
Whether the coming days be wet or sunny.
From where the sun now stands,
I promise to love you irrespective of life’s shifting sands,
To honour you, comfort you, cherish you
And keep you in sickness and health: I’m prepared.
FORSAKING ALL OTHERS, I SHALL BE TRUE TO YOU
For as long as we shall both be spared.
